To properly get a picture of this story in your head, you need to visualize exactly what Cael is talking about. Picture a plastic hanger...the kind that kids two-piece clothes are hanging on in the store. The kind where the whole thing is made out of plast. That has the hook at the top, then the curved or straight part where the shirt goes. Then there is a straight plastic part down the middle, then the bar with thelittle clips or tabs where the pants or diaper cover goes. Am I making sense here? Here is a link (I don't know if it works) to what I am talking about if you really need a visual...

I was cleaning out Melia's closet last weekend...taking out summer clothes, putting in fall clothes. I had a bunch of plastic store hangers of all types laying around the room. Cael came in while I was working and appropriated a handful of the hangers...and they immediately became his newest plaything. In fact, they haven't been far from him for a week now. He plays with them everywhere. They talk. They have adventures. He takes them in the car. He tucks them into bed (on top of his dresser) before he goes to bed. They each have a role in his little family. It's so funny. I have to get pictures! Anyway, I finally asked Cael to tell me all about his hooks, and here is what he said, (in his own words)...

I have a hook family. There are a lot of them. They are all knights. These two are the tallest ones. They are the chief knight and the grandpa. The chief knight is in charge of everything. He's like the dad. He kills bees. This one is the princess. See how her arms are fancy. [editor's note: This one is a padded hanger with satin and ribbons.] She is not a mom. She is just a princess. This one is the mom. And the dad is almost as tall as the chief. The grandma isn't here right now. She is on a long trip. [editor's note: Under the guest bed.] She went to California to see Aunt Jamey. These are the kids. There are three. They like to play a lot. They play in Melia's closet.

I know he said more, but that is about as much as my brain could hang on to at one time. I will post any updates on the Hook Family as Cael provides them for me. It's really so very cute. Hope you enjoyed his little narrative.

Hysterical!! I love how they each have a different role that suits them because of how they look. That's such a great story. I also love that the grandma came to visit me!

How smart that he knows the hierarchy in a family and represents them in heights. This is the funniest little story! I can't wait to hear what else happens to the hooks!
